Spring Cleaning Plan
A Checklist for Focused Cleaning
Hooray, it’s May! The end of this month marks the unofficial start of summer. So, have you already tackled spring cleaning? If not, not to worry, there’s still time. And now, there’s a checklist. Follow this spring cleaning plan and be done before your first BBQ.
Spring Cleaning Plan
If cleaning your house feels like an overwhelming chore, there’s a few things that help take away the stress. A plan is one of them. It may sound like one more thing to do, but it will help break down the process into manageable tasks that can be done in a day, weekend, or spread out across the season. You decide! Here’s a list to help get you started.
- Inventory your supplies. From dust clothes to germ-killing products, make a list of what you need for the whole process so you can get it all in one trip.
- Create a to-do list. What do you want to clean? Break it down by room and detail what to dust and deep clean. Update your calendar with what areas you’re going to focus on per day or week.
- Laundry list. Add items like seasonal quilts, curtains, and mattress covers that don’t get washed as regularly. Take larger washable rugs and comforters to the cleaners or a commercial laundromat.
- Once a year cleaning tasks. Pay closer attention to the areas that aren’t cleaned with a regular dust and vacuum, such as windows, blinds, walls, ceiling fans, baseboards, and vents.
- Freshen the space. Deep clean upholstery and mattresses to eliminate everyday and embedded dust, dirt, and odors. Use a fabric refresher on pillows, cushions, and other items that aren’t washable.
Another way to limit the stress of spring cleaning is to enlist the help of professionals. A pro will know how to properly deep clean areas around your home that you may not even consider—like tile grout, behind appliances, and around stone or brick facades.
